A Jewish community building in central Berlin that includes a kindergarten, a school and a synagogue was firebombed early Wednesday amid a surge in antisemitic violence across Germany that has intensified following the attack on Israel.
Unknown perpetrators hurled two Molotov cocktails at the headquarters of the Kahal Adass Jisroel association but failed to reach the building, and the incendiary devices blew up on the pavement, according to police.
No one was injured in the attack that took place around 3 a.m.
The building, like other Jewish sites in Germany, is under permanent police protection but officers couldn’t prevent the attack or apprehend the perpetrators.
